From high school outreach and hands-on light labs to research talks and student presentations, our events help students explore optics, photonics, imaging, and light-based technology.
SHARP! students will visit the SPIE Student Chapter at UIC for a hands-on optics experience using optical learning kits. Students will explore lenses, mirrors, color, reflection, refraction, and image formation through guided activity stations.
Light. Lenses. Discovery. Hands-on optical learning kits turn abstract concepts into visible experiments.
Outreach visits and optical learning kit activities for students exploring light, lenses, mirrors, and color.
Chapter meetings where students meet officers, learn about upcoming activities, and get involved.
Speaker events connecting students with faculty research, lab work, technical ideas, and career pathways.
A student spotlight format for research updates, projects, demos, papers, and technical presentations.
Hands-on member activities where students build demos, test optical concepts, and prepare outreach stations.
Visit the symposium page for details and updates.
Use demonstrations and optical kits to make light behavior easier to understand.
Meet students, officers, faculty, researchers, and professionals in related fields.
Practice explaining science, presenting work, and participating in technical conversations.
